Just back from St. John's, Newfoundland! New Inspiration....

I always find new inspiration after visiting other areas. The landscape of St. John's and all of Newfoundland is incredibly special. So many of the artists there have truly captured that feeling.

This is a piece I painting last year. It was partly inspired by our trip to NFLD, but also of our local area here in Lunenburg and especially of Stonehurst. Most visitors completely miss Stonehurst- only going to Blue Rocks (about a 10 minute drive out of town). Follow the signs, it's worth a visit!

This is a piece I completed last April, 2015. It's called "Safe Harbour", but it was inspired by a little town called Petty Harbour which is about a twenty minute drive out of St. John's. (Very good moose poutine!)
